Dr. Bernardo Wainstein graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Buenos Aires in 1992 and specialized in plastic surgery, obtaining an 8, 50 point average in his career. He holds a degree as a specialist in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery awarded by the Argentine Medical Association, AMA, the Argentine Association of Plastic Surgery and the Ministry of Public Health. He trained as a specialist at the Ramos Mejía Hospital, The Burn Institute and the Children’s Hospital-Ricardo Gutiérrez.
He attended the cosmetic surgery services of Marie Curie Oncology Hospital over 1997-1998. He gained experience in post mastectomy breast reconstruction at the Tornú Hospital in 1999 performing plastic surgery. He got his training working with Dr. Néstor Maquieira, former president of the Argentine Association of Plastic Surgery, helping him on a permanent basis while learning reconstructive surgery of the limbs and implants at the Naval Hospital, French Hospital and Clínicas Hospital.
His professional background includes working at the Zimman Clinic of Plastic Surgery in 1996, at the Alpi Institute, 1997-98, at the Lucio Meléndez Hospital in Adrogué 1997-98, at the Italian Hospital in Buenos Aires as plastic surgeon in charge of the ART office (workers’ risk insurance) 2001-2005 treating facial and burn trauma. He has been providing his services as plastic surgeon for the groups: SPM, TIM Galeno and AMSA since 1999, for Médicus, since 2002, and has worked as outpatients’ plastic surgeon for the Italian Hospital since 2002.
During his hospital as well as private practice he has performed over 4500 surgeries, such as: plastic facial surgeries and body surgeries, surgery on burned people, maxillofacial surgery, reconstructive surgery on children , such as: cleft palate, cleft lip, and over 500 non-surgical procedures of aesthetic surgery such as: fillings, Botulinum Toxin, peeling, Aptos threads, and mesotherapy. He has attended a great number of symposiums, courses and congresses related to his field of study, inside the country and abroad, and he presented scientific works which were later published in specialized medical journals.
Dr. Sandra Sbrascini graduated as a medical doctor from Buenos Aires University with outstanding grades and an 8,57 point average. She did her residency in plastic, aesthetic, reconstructive and maxillofacial surgery after winning a contest at Ramos Mejía Municipal Hospital where she trained and gained wide experience in aesthetic and maxillofacial surgery, cleft lip, congenital malformations, skin tumors and breast reconstruction. Likewise she attended courses at the Burn Institute to train in the surgical treatment of the burned patient. Having completed her residency and being awarded her specialist’s degree by the City Hall and the Ministry of Public Health she was appointed residency chief due to her competence and endeavor. Soon afterwards she became residents’ instructor in charge of training future plastic surgeons.
Her professional background includes the Alpi Institute, 1993-1994, Medicard: maxillofacial surgeon for ART (workers’ risk insurance) patients, 1995-2000, Sagrada Familia Clinic, 1998-2000. She provided her services as plastic surgeon for MSA, Tim Galeno from the years 2000 to 2006. At present she works as plastic surgeon at the Austral Hospital in Pilar.
She has taken part in a great number of courses, symposiums and congresses related to her specific field of study, inside the country and abroad. She presented scientific works which were later used at various courses and congresses dealing with her specialty.
